The Little Owl, New York City,USA

The little owl is very tiny, it's like going into your own apartment or a private party because it has so few tables and everything is made fresh for you. When you go in, it's lovely. It's just charming and intimate. At The Little Owl, it's like being in someone's apartment and they're just making you dinner, it's got that feeling to it. The food is an interesting combination, it's not like surf and turf, but it's good and it's fresh.

The lineup is divided into three sections: veggies, fish and meat, and though dishes will change regularly based on seasonality,  the opening menu includes everything from chilled sweet onion soup with olive oil-poached shrimp to braised beef tongue wtih masa and salsa verde.
